Are you dreaming about your next holiday? I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but as soon as I get back from a break with my family, I’m already starting to think about going away again!

There are so many options when it comes to travel and holidaying, especially when it comes down to what accommodation you choose. There are hotels, apartments, villas, mobile homes, and even camping in a tent.

For us, as a family of 5, my absolute favourite type of accommodation to stay in is a holiday cottage or villa, like those available at ClickStay.

Hotel rooms are tricky; they can be lovely, but when you’ve got your children sleeping in the same room as you, it means once you’ve got them sleeping in the evening that’s it – your options for anything involving noise or light are pretty limited! And I have to admit to simply not being brave enough to try camping with the children yet!

Here are some advantages of choosing a holiday home:

You get the whole space

The best thing about choosing a holiday home is that you get the whole space to yourselves. This means you can have separate bedrooms for the children, which makes bedtime so much easier. It gives you space to enjoy the evenings while the kids are sleeping, and also means there is much more room for them to play in the day between activities and so on.

There are some really family friendly villas available – I’ve been having a good look and this amazing villa in Spain is my favourite pick so far – it comes with a private pool, table tennis table, pool table and garden toys! Plus, it has a reasonable price from £521 for a week.

You don’t have to worry about your neighbours

When you’re in a hotel, it can feel like you can hear everything that’s going on in the rooms next door, which means you worry about the noise they can hear from you too. Choosing a holiday home means a bit more space between you and your neighbours.

You can holiday with more people

If you’re travelling as a large family or group, booking a holiday villa is a great choice. You can choose a larger villa with multiple bedrooms, and split the cost. Some villas even come with their own private pool -what a splash of luxury!

It simply feels more homely

Sometimes, when you’re on holiday, your hotel room/apartment or mobile home can just feel a little impersonal. Holiday villas are designed to be a ‘home away from home’ so that for the time you’re staying there, you can feel more comfortable.

Choosing and booking a holiday home

You might be thinking that it’s hard to find and book a holiday home, but it couldn’t be easier. ClickStay.com have been helping holiday makers since 2003, and it’s simple to find the perfect home and book using their website.

You can choose from over 80 countries all over the world, and there are holiday lets available to suit all family sizes and budgets. If you’re planning a ski break in the snow, or chasing the sunshine in Santorini, with over 71, 000 properties available, you’re sure to find something.

  1. It is true what you say, if it’s one room and you’ve got kids it can get pretty boring in the evenings. Recently we’ve been choosing holidays where we have a separate space so that we don’t have to go to bed at 8pm.
