When we think about skiing or snowboarding, snow, chilling temperatures and warm clothes come to mind. All these words have nothing to do with the conditions that we are currently experiencing thanks to the arrival of summer. This means that people who love skiing have to set their skis and boards aside and devote themselves to another activity for three months.

Well, what if we told you that this is not true? There are some ski resorts that are open all year round or they close for a short amount of time. Thus, whether you want to keep practising or to learn how to ski so that you are ready for the official ski season, you can visit one of the resorts below.

Resort 1: ZermattSwitzerland

The Zermatt ski resort is in the Swiss part of the highest mountain range in Europe, the Alps. The glacier in the area of the resort allows the establishment to stay open even in the summer. Skiers of all levels can visit the resort whenever they want and start skiing immediately. Even novice skiers will have the chance to practise under the guidance of professional instructors. It should be noted, however, that due to the nature of glaciers, intermediate and advanced skiers have the best time there. Everyone should book their ski passes with Erna Low in advance, so that they can move up and down the ski areas and take full advantage of the amenities of the resort.

Resort 2: Kitzsteinhorn, Austria

Moving to the Austrian part of the Alps, there is another ideal place for winter sports lovers, which is the Zell am See Kaprun region. In that area, there is the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, which allows skiers to take full advantage of the pistes there all year round. The glacier is so high up the mountain that people can enjoy natural snow even in summer. Of course, watching the landscape slowly change from lush and green valleys to white slopes is just magical. The things you can do in that part of Salzburg do not end, as besides sunbathing and skiing, you can also swim in Lake Zell.

Resort 3: Ski Portillo, Chile

The Alps is not the sole mountain range that is worth skiers’ attention; the Andes are the longest mountain range in the world. They are located in the western part of South America. Ski Portillo is the ski resort of the area that is worth visiting in summer. Not only is it open for skiers and snowboarders to have fun but also there are special events planned, like Friends Week or Wine Fest.

Resort 4: Whistler Blackcomb, Canada

Whistler Blackcomb is the perfect ski resort for people who love mountains and they are happy to engage with the landscape even when it is not covered in slippery snow. You can enjoy the impressive and still dramatic peaks of the mountain even if they are green and all flowery. The resort offers fun summer activities such as hiking, bike tours and bear watching.
