This month I’m taking part in an ‘All about the Blogger’ linky which is all about getting to know other bloggers and their blogs.
Tell us a bit about your blog
I’m Shannon and I’m 23. I’ve got 2 small boys who are nearly 4 & 2 and I’m also engaged to a Viking. I run Peanut & Sprout which is a parenting and lifestyle blog, a blog of all sorts if you will.
Q1. How would your best friend describe you?
I’ve known since we were about 14 and this is what she said:
“You are my best friend since the day we met, we have been through all the up and downs. Hard times and the best of times, and I still love you more each day!! I would describe you as the most passionate, loving person everrrr!! Who knows what she wants and goes and gets it! But also is caring, kind, loving and FABULOUS.
Q2. What is your favourite thing about blogging?
When I first started, my favourite thing about blogging was that I could use it as an outlet. Being a mum of one at that time, it was a pretty terrifying thing! Now I love that I’m discovering more and more bloggers who I’ve got a lot in common with. It’s also opened up so many opportunities for it, ones I wouldn’t have been given before.
Q3. If you could change anything about blogging, what would it be?
This will probably be the same as most people’s answer but getting myself out there and getting noticed in definitely the thing I would change the most. Social media is great but it’s becoming more and more difficult to promote yourself and sometimes that’s a bit disheartening.
Q4. If you were invited to a Blogger’s Cocktail Party, which three bloggers would you invite and why?
Ooh…I would probably have Nyomi from Nomipalony, her Instagram stories always have me in stitches! Emma from Mamalina because I find her approach to parenting, especially zero waste so inspiring. And also Libby from Baby Toddler Foods, I’ve been following her from the beginning and the food photos she takes are just amazing.
Q5. What is the best blogging tip you have been given?
It’s going to sound so cliché but…be yourself. If you’re like everyone else, you’re not going to stand out and people will just find you boring.
Q6. When you aren’t blogging, where is your favourite place to visit for a day out?
Any National Trust place. We recently took out a membership after finding that there’s quite a few NT places nearby. It’s a great way to spend a day where we’ve got no plans and the boys can just run around and burn off energy.
Q7. Tell us about your guilty pleasure. It could be food, drink, a TV programme or your favourite band.
Mashed potato sandwiches! I know it’s carb on carb but it’s delicious. Add some salt and brown sauce…perfection!
Q8. If you knew you were going to be marooned on a desert island and could take 3 luxury items with you, what would they be?
An iPod so I could listen to music, a moisturiser to stop my skin drying out and a camera to capture the amazing views!
Q9. What was the last good book you read?
The Marriage Pact by Michelle Richmond. Such an amazing idea and the ending isn’t what I expected at all!
Q10. Describe your perfect date night?
Any time me and my soon-to-be husband get free time away from the boys. It doesn’t have to be out of the house, it could be to watch rubbish TV or a film on the sofa with snacks and a duvet. It’s about quality time for me at the moment, not fancy meals out.
